Laura Lewis, MS
Laura Lewis was born and raised, mostly outdoors, in the San Francisco Bay Area. She started her undergraduate career with dreams of becoming a zoologist, but followed her scientific curiosities towards much smaller subjects, cells and molecular biology. This led to a graduate study of mammary biology, exploring the relationship between lactation and breast cancer. Her graduate thesis, “A Proteomic Perspective on Development in the Mammary Epithelium” was published in 2012, earning her a Master of Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
She went on to work as both a biology teacher and a freelance editor for non-native English-speaking scientists, preparing for peer review and publication in American Journals. This work prepared her well for editing and writing technical documents for Metabolic Maintenance. Writing consumer-facing copy is a new endeavor for her, but she is relishing the opportunity to connect with the health-conscious customer, while satisfying her own hunger for information by staying abreast (no pun intended) of the latest research on nutrition and longevity!
Dr. Kristen McCormack, ND
