3 Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. L-Glutamine, the most abundant amino acid in the body, is classified as conditionally essential. Under conditions of stress, trauma, and disease, the body cannot synthesize enough L-glutamine to meet physiological demands. A versatile amino acid, L-glutamine is important for acid-base balance, supplying nitrogen to muscles, protein synthesis, and energy production. L-Glutamine plays a major role in protecting the integrity of the intestinal tract, making it a mainstay in gut healing protocols.*

L-Glutamine Powder

Product Code: 00133, 00132          Grams per Bottle: 500, 200

Each scoop contains:

1000 mg

Description: L-Glutamine is a conditionally essential amino acid. Although L-glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the body, under conditions of stress, trauma, or disease the body cannot synthesize enough to meet physiological demands. Metabolic Maintenance pure L-glutamine powder is tasteless and easily dissolved in liquids.

Uses: 1) Supports healthy immune function. L-glutamine is utilised at a high rate by cells of the immune system and is required to support optimal lymphocyte proliferation and production of cytokines by lymphocytes and macrophages (1). In hospital settings, L- glutamine supplementation has been shown to have a beneficial effect on infectious complications and reduces hospital stay (2).

2) Supports intestinal barrier function. Glutamine is a major source of energy for proliferation and differentiation of intestinal epithelial cells. A significant body of evidence indicates that glutamine preserves gut barrier function and prevents permeability to toxins and pathogens. Glutamine is considered the most important nutrient for healing of ‘leaky gut syndrome’ because it is the preferred fuel for enterocytes and colonocytes (3).

3) Supports exercise recovery. Heavy training has been shown to result in low plasma glutamine levels, requiring long periods of recovery (4). Glutamine supplementation significantly reduced muscle soreness and strength loss after exercise in a double-blind study of healthy males (5).

4) Supports healthy circulation and cardiac function. Glutamine, due to its ready conversion to alpha-ketoglutarate, may protect the myocardium by preserving metabolic substrates. Glutamine administration may improve cardiac output and coronary flow (6).

Source Materials: L-glutamine is made by fermentation of glucose.  Vegan and non-GMO.

Allergens: According to information provided by our suppliers, these capsules are free of the eight major allergens as identified by the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA): Wheat (gluten), eggs, milk, soybeans, shellfish, fish, peanuts, tree nuts.
