What is Glucosamine Chondroitin with Hyaluronic Acid?
Glucosamine Chondroitin with Hyaluronic Acid is an updated, more complete supplement for the maintenance of joint health, containing both our maximum potency glucosamine chondroitin formula and hyaluronic acid. Glucosamine, chondroitin, and hyaluronic acid are all closely related compounds and components of glycoaminoglycans (GAGS), which are found in naturally occurring articular cartilage matrices and synovial fluid .
How does Glucosamine Chondroitin with Hyaluronic Acid Work?
At least 20 million Americans suffer from osteoarthritis (OA)  and many more suffer from non-arthritic joint pain. OA is the most common form of arthritis and is a major cause of morbidity, activity limitation, physical disability, excess health care utilization, and reduced quality of life, especially in people aged 65 years and older . OA is characterized by the breakdown of joint tissue, including cartilage degradation, over-hardening of bone, and inflammation in the joint. As such, OA management plans are designed to relieve pain and maintain joint mobility in daily life over the long term. While medical therapies primarily address the treatment of joint pain with analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs, these treatments can cause serious, adverse gastrointestinal and cardiovascular events, especially with long term use .
The dietary supplements glucosamine and chondroitin sulfate have been advocated as safe and effective complementary or alternative options for symptom management for patients with osteoarthritis or cartilage-related joint pain. Chondroitin is a gel-forming polysaccharide macromolecule that contributes to the cushion-like characteristics of cartilage. Glucosamine is an amino sugar that helps to maintain the strength and structure of cartilage, contributing to both the resiliency and shock-absorption properties of cartilage. Glucosamine and chondroitin are considered long-term structure-modifying agents as they have been shown to have a beneficial effect of delaying long-term knee OA cartilage loss , in addition to reducing pain, stiffness, functional limitations, and joint swelling/effusion [5, 6]. In subjects with knee pain, evidence has shown that glucosamine and chondroitin supplementation is effective for relieving knee pain and improving locomotor functions . Hyaluronic acid has also been shown to support tissue hydration and joint lubrication .

Source Materials: Glucosamine sulfate is derived from shells of crab and/or shrimp. Chondroitin sulfate is derived from bovine cartilage (BSE-free). Hyaluronic acid is made by fermentation. Cellulose for capsules is derived from softwood tree pulp. All ingredients are non-GMO.
Allergens: Glucosamine sulfate has been derived from shellfish. According to information provided by our suppliers, these capsules are free of seven of the eight major allergens as identified by the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA): Wheat (gluten), eggs, milk, soybeans, fish, peanuts, tree nuts.
